Article Marketing could be a extremely efficient way to generate lots of no cost targeted visitors to your website, but it has to be completed right. But how to do article marketing correct? First Mistake –Boring Titles

Here’s What To do Instead

Think of the article title as a headline. Learn just a little about marketing and make it fascinating. Take the headline of this post as an example. Simply using “how to do article marketing” would have been rather dull, but by adding “don’t make these three mistakes” it becomes intriguing.

An intesting title is the reason why you’re reading this right now. Had it been uninteresting, you would have skipped right through it as well.

2nd Mistake – Long Paragraphs and Articles

Long articles or blog posts which are more than about 600 words long are often ineffective. It is harder on the eyes to read content on the web than it is to read a book or the newspaper.

Stay way from run-on sentences and lengthy paragraphs too. Those also make the information very difficult to read on the web.

Here’s What To do Instead

A very good goal would be to craft content that’s between 450 and 600 words. If you feel like you have to reveal more than that, split it up into 2 separate articles.

You also want to use short sentences and paragraphs. Again, look at this write-up as an illustration. Notice how brief each and every paragraph is and how the entire write-up is broken into over six parts every one with a bold heading.

Having all this extra space around the page makes your post far more readable.

3rd Mistake – Boring By-Lines

Last but not least it’s important not to blow the most important part of your write-up, your author bio or resource box. The idea is to get him to browse all the way to the end of the write-up and then click on the link at the end. It’s easy to blow it by composing a generic “John Doe is the author of bla bla bla” kind of by-line. And whatever you do do not tell the reader about what you’ve accomplished in your life or any awards you’ve won. Frankly, he’s not that interested in you, just what you can do for him.

Here’s What To do Instead

Alternatively, concentrate on making the article flow into your resource box. Add a “Call To Action”, telling your reader what he must do now. Offer him some additional information or invite him to join your list or check out your product. Focus on what’s in it for him.

Article marketing is an awesome way to provide content for sales letters, squeeze pages and blogs. To have enough content to get regular traffic you should spend time every month writing new articles. Eventually, you should have your articles scattered across the web, giving you hundreds of chances to get traffic to your site.

Article marketing is one of the greatest ways to get traffic on the internet and it is one of the few ways to get free traffic. Another reason you should be using article marketing strategies to market your website is that it will provide lasting traffic for a long time to come.

Article marketing and writing articles is also a great way for you to establish yourself as an expert or an authority in your field or niche.

There are a few things to consider when writing your articles.

Article Marketing Strategy Guidelines:

1. An article should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 to 800 words long.

2. Each article should be written or focused around one specific keyword phrase.

3. The keyword phrase should be used in the headline, the first and last paragraph and then just normally throughout the article as it makes sense.

4. Keyword density should be around 2% of your total words used in your article.

There are plenty of free tools available online that will tell you your keyword density within your article. If you find your density is too low, add keywords where you can without making the article sound weird. You can also edit out some of the text which will raise the keyword density.

If your articles keyword density is too high, then you will need to remove some of your keywords, write more text, or find different ways to say the same thing such as using the keyword “internet marketing” instead of “affiliate marketing”.

5. Submit your articles to the most popular article marketing directories.

6. Post your articles on your blog or site.

7. You should always include a link back to your site or product within the signature or resource box at article marketing directories.

Getting Ideas For Articles:

1. One of the first things I suggest you do is to use a keyword research tool such as the Google AdWords keyword tool, Wordtracker or SEObook and type in one of your niche keyword phrases.

This let’s you see what people are actually typing in and searching for on a regular basis. The reason for this is because you don’t want to be wasting your time writing an article about something that no one is interested in.

You can then write articles about any or all of those keyword phrases.

2. Check out discussion forums. What are people talking about?

3. Look at http://Amazon.com for popular books/sellers.

4. Watch the news and read the newspaper. What is happening in the world that gets brought up over and over?

5. Go to article marketing directories such as http://ezinearticles.com, http://isnare.com, http://goarticles.com and others to see what other people in your niche are writing about.

6. Perform a search at Google for some of your niche related keywords and see what results come up and to see what others are writing about.

Writing Your Articles:

Whether the article marketing guidelines above make sense or not, the biggest thing you need to focus on is moving forward.

The way to do that is to choose a specific keyword phrase to write your article about.

Make the article at somewhere between 400-700 words.

Use the main keyword phrase:

- In your title
- Your first paragraph
- Your last paragraph
- Where ever else you can for it to sound natural.

How Many Articles Should I Write?

The thing with articles are, with effective article marketing you need to continue to write articles on a regular basis. So what I’m saying here is not to write an article, post it, and then wait a month to write another article. Try writing 1 article per day, or at least a couple or so per week and post them as mentioned above.

The more articles you distribute, the more chances for people to find your articles and be directed to your site. Article marketing is an effective way to drive traffic to your web page. Remember, the greater the number of people seeing your site, the greater chance you have of selling your product or service.

Internet Article Marketing For Realtors – Create a Flood of Leads

So how can you position yourself as a leading authority in real estate and have masses of traffic flooding your website? “Internet article marketing”. If you can write an email, you can do internet article marketing as a Realtor or agent. Don’t worry if you don’t actually “feel” like a leading authority; you have more expertise than you know. And don’t be scared either; you don’t need to be an English major to do this.

Internet article marketing is a fantastic way to demonstrate your expertise and convey the real estate information and knowledge that you posses. It can set you apart from the competition and place you on a pedestal as a “real estate expert” in the eyes of the consumer, which is what will ultimately bring in more cash for you.

Think about this…

“How many articles have you read on the web, in magazines and in newspapers that you’ve taken as the gospel truth?”

Probably quite a few. Heck, people take weight loss advice from “Dr. Phil” and he’s not exactly looking like a personal trainer.

How many of these writers have the “credentials” we think they do in order to be an authority on the subject? Not as many as we think.

Unless you’re writing in a medical journal, you don’t need as many degrees as Fahrenheit to be an expert in a certain field. Don’t sell yourself short. Experience far outweighs credentials in many cases, especially real estate.

Internet article marketing for Realtors and agents can go in a number of directions. You can write articles on a mountain of real estate issues, subjects, experiences, thoughts, predictions, etc. They don’t all need to be statistical and analytical reports, although those are great too.

Your personal experiences, tips you have on various pitfalls to avoid when buying or a special report you write on “how to save ,000 when selling” are all superb internet article marketing ideas to write about. People looking for your kind of info will eat it up.

The key to internet article marketing is to be informative, provide useful content and above all else (for the love of all things), let your personality shine through! You must show your personality in any and every way you can.

Yes, keep it professional but let people get to know you; the real you. That’s what people crave and that’s what’s going to build the relationships that bring you more business. People love other “real” people; not fake people trying to be proper and insincere.

Of course, don’t be a meat head and forget to throw in your website in the “about you” box so people know where to find out more about you. If prospects don’t know how to find you, your internet article marketing campaign will be a total waste.

The art and science of writing articles is actually fairly simple and straight forward. The style I write them in is the same way I write my blog posts; conversationally. I like to be as real as possible so I write my articles and posts very similarly to how I speak in-person. Pay attention to the style of your writing and be intentional about it.

Another vital aspect of internet article marketing is the headline of the article itself, which needs to be “catchy” so it grabs the prospective reader’s attention. Remember, people DO actually judge books by their cover (headline/title). Use words that convey and inspire the emotion you’re trying to hit in your prospect.

Most internet article marketing submission sites will want you to write a summary paragraph, which gives the reader a snapshot at what your article is about. Make it intriguing and interesting. Many times, this is how the reader will decide whether they will read on or click off.

The article body is the meat and potatoes of your article. This is the content. This is where you give the reader what they want. Give them the solution to the problem they’re having.

You don’t want to “sell” at anytime in the article headline, summary or body. That’ll come later. You want to keep the article body informative, concise, and helpful and put some personality into it. But never sell in your article.

The article “resource box” or “author bio” is where you can point people to your website and tell them what you do. This is where you can finally sell yourself. The “author bio” or “resource box” is about you and your services. A good way to think of this is that the article body is the “give” and the author bio is the “take”.

Give them a quick background on you, what you do, what you offer and give them a reason to click on your website or blog link. Tell them they can sign up for some type of freebie offer. Entice them but don’t be cheesy about it.

Now I know you’re wondering, “How is just writing a stupid article going to get traffic to my website?” Well, once you have at least 1 article written, the fun begins! Now you need to post that puppy online anywhere and everywhere that your prospects might look.

Don’t go too crazy though because Google might classify your article as spam if you’re sending it to too many article submission sites. Pick 3-5 article submission sites that you like and stick with those. Just do a Google search for “article submission sites” and you’ll see the daunting number of places to post your masterpiece.

These article submission sites are basically collections of articles on any topic you can possibly imagine; written by all types and personalities. Readers will either go directly to the article site to search for information on the topic they’re looking for or they’ll search on Google where they’ll undoubtedly pull up results from articles posted on these sites.

Prospects searching for relevant information will see your article, hopefully read it through and then click on your website or blog link. That’s the essence and goal of article marketing.

But just like any other marketing weapon, it’s a numbers game. A certain number of people will see your headline and a percentage of those will read your article. A percentage of those people will then click on your link and some of those prospects will hopefully find out more about you and become clients.

The more articles you have out there, the more traffic you’ll get and the more clients you’ll end up working with. It’s really a number game and you can increase those numbers with better headlines, better summaries, better article content and better author bio/resource boxes.

A great source for writing articles is your own blog. You can take blog posts you’ve written and turn them into full-blown articles. You may need to lengthen them or change some wording but you can turn them into articles to post on article submission sites.

Another idea would be to use Google’s Keyword Tool and search for some relevant keywords that home buyers or sellers are searching with. You can then build an article around those topics and you’ll be confident that the information is truly needed out there.

For example, with Google’s Keyword Tool (free), you could type in “home buying tips”. That may be a great topic by itself but Google will return a ton of keywords that are relevant to that phrase. Look through the list, use common sense and see which other keywords your ideal prospect might be searching with. Then you can expand and expound on that keyword and write a full article.

As for my favorite article submission sites, my top choice would be EzineArticles, by far. Another excellent place would be Squidoo.com (crazy company name, I know). Digg.com is another good one. GoArticles.com is great as well. There really is a ton out there so do some homework and try a few out.

You want to be sure the article submission site is getting enough traffic and you can check that at Alexa.com. If the site isn’t getting much traffic, you’re article is less likely to be seen. That probably goes without saying but it’s very important.

By the way, if you’re not much into writing a bunch of articles, if that’s just not your “thing”, there’s a solution. Go to Elance.com and find a good freelance writer to write articles for you. You’ll own them and can then distribute the articles as you would if you wrote them yourself.

Bottom line, it’s all about content and information. If you can give it to your prospects in a way they’ll enjoy, they’ll reward you with business.

Social Media Marketing has a lot of advantages over other types of marketing. Here are some benefits.

Once you put something on the web, you never have to take it down and it doesn’t have to disappear. So while it is relevant right now and can be found right now, it can continue to work for you long beyond the here and now.

When you upload video, it can live on the video sites for years, potentially forever, as compared to a short TV commercial which may have a life span of 30 seconds.

When you post an article or blog, it may be found and read today, but it also goes into the Internet archives and can be read for years to come.

People who find your content are looking for your content, generally speaking.

People search for what they want on the Internet, so if they find you, they are likely looking for content like your’s. This engages them on their timetable, unlike a TV, radio, or newspaper spot that may or may not be on their timetable.

People spend more time on the Internet than on any other technology medium.
During the week of October 3rd, 2010, thirty million people played the Facebook game Farmville, while only twenty-four million people watched the most popular TV show of the time, “Dancing With the Stars.” (according to mashable)

Social Media is more engaging.

Yes, I know everyone reading this article has probably shouted at the TV a time or two…but did the TV answer you? A engaging social media presence gives customers/clients a chance to interact with your business. Dr. Pepper posts a question on their Facebook page every morning… and guess what? Hundreds, even thousands, of people respond every single day. Care to guess what this daily interaction triggers in their brains? (I theorize that this is why my wife buys Dr. Pepper by the 24 pack.)

Social Media is more affordable.

While social media may be costly, it certainly gets more bang for the buck so to speak. Actually, compared to every other type of marketing, I can almost guarantee you’ll get more profit per dollar spent in social media, as opposed to most other forms of marketing. Now of course for legal reasons I won’t promise that, but you get the idea.

Social Media just plain beats out the competition.

TV ads are becoming ineffective because of DVR’s and TURBO’s, not to mention the fact they are short. A YouTube video on the other hand is not limited to 30 seconds, and it is being broadcast 24/7.

Most people get their news online, which is running many newspapers into bankruptcy. An ad in the paper is only good for one day while an ad on Facebook can get you a follower for life!

Radio ads are like a shotgun effect…you put your ad out and hope someone is listening and will respond. In social media and online advertising you can customize your ad campaigns to only reach those who are most likely to purchase your product.
Billboards are in one place, at one time, and can only affect the people going by it at that point in time. Social media can be in multiple places at multiple times for the same amount of money.

On and on the list goes! While these forms of marketing can all be part of the marketing mix, social media is a much better place to have a presence.

Having an online marketing plan is essential to stay competitive in the 21st century.  Essentially, Internet marketing can help your business by using the Internet to do one or more of the following:

·Communicate your company’s message: ex) Biography, mission statement, information about products, services, or business opportunity

·Conduct research:  Preferences, needs, and demographics of your existing and potential customers/business partners.

·Sell products and services on your web site or for other vendors on their sites.

·Sell advertising space on your web site and/or other sites over the Internet.

·Share ideas and experiences with others in order for you to build valuable relationships that are vital for success in any business

There are many elements to marketing online, but the core concepts are essentially the same.  Here are the most popular techniques used by Internet marketers.

·Building a website, consisting of text, images, and possibly audio/video elements used to convey your message online and inform existing and potential customers of the features and benefits of doing business with you.  The website has your contact information clearly displayed and may also include the ability to capture visitors contact information thereby allowing you to keep in touch with them via email.   Websites are the Internet equivalents of offline brochures or mail order catalogues and they are a great way to establish your business identity.

·Search Engine Marketing (SEM), which is marketing your website online via search engines, either by improving the site’s natural ranking through search engine optimization (SEO), buying pay-per-click (PPC) ads or purchasing pay-for-inclusion (PFI) listings in website directories, which are similar to offline yellow page listings.

·Email marketing, which is a method of distributing information and getting feedback from customers about your product, service, or business opportunity through Email. Interested parties can subscribe to your mailing list through an opt-in form that is prominently displayed on your web site.  You can use an Autoresponder (software program) to send emails out to your prospect list, even when you’re not at a computer. What you do is you create, lets say, a seven-part email course. Then you can set the intervals for the emails to, say, once a day and send them one part of the course each day over the course of a week. So you write the emails one time and then anyone joining that list will automatically be sent those emails for the next seven days. This doesn’t matter if you’re online or if you’re away from the computer. They will get sent automatically. They also get added to the list automatically. And if they choose to unsubscribe, all of that is taken care of without you having to lift a finger. Email marketing is essentially the online equivalent of direct mail marketing.

·Blogging, which is the act of posting comments, expressing opinions or making announcements and can be accomplished either by hosting your own blog or by posting comments and/or URLs in other blogs related to your product, service, or business opportunity online.

·Classified Ads, which is the online equivalent to placing small ads in newspapers or magazines.  There are plenty of free online classified Ads sites that you can promote your business on by category and really target your audience.

·Forum Marketing, where you can participate in discussion boards on a number of subjects relating to your business.  Leaving your URL at the end of all your posts is an excellent way of creating many back links online that readers can click on and visit your web site long after you have posted your entry in the forum. 

·Social Networking that can put you in touch with old friends and help you establish relationships with new prospective customers and business partners all over the world.  You can set up a personal profile, display your photos, educational info, business info, website URL and email address, audio and video files etc…

·Press releases, which involve placing a newsworthy story about your company, website, products/services, or any related events with on online wire service.

·Article marketing, which involves writing articles related to your business and having them published online on syndicated article sites. These articles then have a tendency to spread around the Internet since the article services permit re-publication provided that all of the links in the article are maintained. Article marketing can result in significant traffic to your website, and the distribution of syndicated articles can promote your brand to a wide audience.

·Banner advertising, which is the placement of ads on a website for a fee. The offline equivalent of this form of online marketing would be traditional ads in newspapers or magazines.

·Social Bookmarking, a method for you to search, store, and organize bookmarks of web pages on the Internet.   These bookmarks are usually public, and can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination of public and private domains. The allowed people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or via a search engine.  You can store links to your blog,press releases,and articles in these Social bookmarking sites and allow others to search them.

By consistently applying these fundamental Internet marketing strategies to your business you will see an increase in the traffic to your website which you can turn into customers and/or partners. Each technique has its benefits and some may work better for you than others.  Also, different online marketers will have varying results with the different techniques in their Internet marketing game plan.  So, it is extremely important for you to use Site Traffic Analysis tools that will give you a clear indication as to where you are getting the bulk of your traffic from.  This will let you focus on what works best and maximize your results.  Cheers!
